The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is an AAALAC accredited animal care program. The pursuit of this accreditation demonstrates CALS commitment to humane and ethical treatment of research animals. The CALS re-accreditation site visit occurs every 3-years, the next site visit will be the fall of 2021.
The Animal Welfare Act mandates humane and ethical treatment of animals used in teaching and research, therefore, requirements for conducting animal research are extensive.
