Infrastructure and Networking

Overview

CALS IT has expertise and ability to both provide and consult with CALS units on their server, data and networking needs. We have our own on-premise infrastructure as well as availability with public cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. Our server and application hosting services are currently used by CALS Administration and several CALS departments.

To securely manage and monitor our networks and firewalls, CALS IT and departmental partners have formed a group named the CALS Network Consortium, which collectively monitors more than half of all networks and firewalls within the college. This Consortium, staffed with experts familiar with our network and firewall equipment, allows for backup and additional awareness for networks where we provide services. This also frees up departmental IT staff time for other services.
