IDs For Retirees

  • Retired UW–Madison employees (i.e., former employees eligible to receive WRS annuities) should retain their UW–Madison identification cards for access to University libraries, recreational and other facilities.
  • Retirees who wish to continue using the facilities or IT tools, e.g., wisc.edu email, should inform their department prior to their retirement date so a request is submitted to the Office of Human Resources (retiredID@ohr.wisc.edu or 265-2257).
  • Should your needs change and you no longer require a valid ID card, also please notify your department or the Office of Human Resources.
  • If a retiree is not requesting emeritus status, the department can request retirement certificates from campus at https://hr.wisc.edu/request-for-retirement-certificate/.
